Event Tag expands Lumana's capabilities beyond physical security and transforms it into a powerful operational tool that enhances how users search for video and monitor their organizations.

Video security systems have been traditionally used for physical security and improving general visibility. Lumana’s AI video security platform now expands beyond these use cases, delivering a new way to enhance operations across various industries.

Today, we are excited to announce Event Tag — a powerful enterprise integration and video search engine. With Event Tag, organizations can integrate Lumana with other on-premise or cloud systems to index and enrich video data to accelerate investigations and reviewing of footage.

Event Tag uses Lumana’s APIs, enabling organizations to index relevant events. Users can quickly search for those events within Lumana’s Smart Search interface to locate the proper video footage when needed.

Leveraging Event Tag delivers greater visibility and value to nearly any organization. For example, manufacturing or warehousing facilities can integrate Lumana with warehouse management systems (WMS) to index video through pallet ID scans whenever pallets arrive, move, or leave. Suppose a pallet arrives damaged or goes missing. In that case, users can enter the pallet ID number to locate all footage related to the pallet, including arrival, current status, and last seen location.

Getting Started with Event Tag

To integrate with an external system, users must first generate an API key. From there, users can create custom events with the appropriate attributes, such as “pallet ID,” “employee badge scan,” “transaction value,” etc. This instructs Lumana on what data should be expected from the external system.

Create your event and specify attributes to index video footage

After creating the custom event, users must send a POST request with the appropriate data and time format and specify the camera on which the event will take place. This will enrich the video footage whenever the event occurs and make it searchable later on.

Once the above steps are completed, users can now search millions of hours of video with an Event Tag and layer additional search parameters to find footage in seconds.

Event Tag enables the Lumana platform to move beyond physical security and enriches video data with more context to promote smarter operations. By integrating Lumana with external systems, organizations not only accelerate investigations but also unlock new possibilities and extract more value from their video security.
