New AI-Powered Analytics for Safer, Smarter Spaces

Space Occupancy Dashboards and Analytics

Lumana now provides real-time and historical occupancy tracking across your monitored spaces, giving you valuable insights into how areas are utilized to make smarter staffing and resource allocation decisions. This feature is particularly useful in environments where customer service levels must be adjusted based on occupancy, helping businesses optimize staff deployment during peak hours while improving overall customer experience and operational efficiency.

How to use it:

In the “Create alerts” section, an occupancy alert template is now available within our tracking agent

In Dashboards, you can add a widget for occupancy to monitor your spaces in real-time

Violence Detection

Building upon Lumana's best-in-class AI alert capability, organizations can now detect when physical altercations or fighting occur in real-time across their environment. This ensures that people and visitors are automatically protected, whether it's customers in a retail setting, students on a high school campus, or servers in hospitality, enabling immediate response before incidents escalate.

How to use it:

In the “Create alerts” section, violence detection (beta) is now an available alert template. To try this feature out, please contact support@lumana.ai to get started.

Door Tailgating Detection

Working with our Kisi and Genea integrations, Lumana can now identify when unauthorized individuals follow authorized personnel through access-controlled entry points. When a badge is used, Lumana will automatically monitor entry to ensure the appropriate people gain access to your environment, significantly enhancing security compliance while reducing the risk of unauthorized access that could lead to theft, data breaches, or other security incidents.

How to use it:

  • Integrate Kisi or Genea under “Organization settings”
  • In the “Create alerts” section, create a door tailgating alert, select the door you wish to monitor, and fill out your preferred settings

Platform Optimizations for Better Management

Partner Monitoring Portal

For Lumana Authorized Partners, we've launched a comprehensive diagnostics portal that provides real-time system performance data, such as camera uptime, Core performance, and system activity across all managed accounts. This enables our partners to deliver higher-quality, more proactive customer care when managing Lumana clients, identifying potential issues before they impact end users, and improving overall service delivery.

To get access to your portal, please contact support@lumana.ai.

Bulk License Plate Management

Our new bulk upload feature made managing vehicles and license plate data easier. Organizations can now enter license plate, owner, make, and color details in a CSV file and upload this data directly to VMS+, enabling faster creation of vehicle alerts and streamlining operations for facilities with high vehicle traffic like corporate campuses, warehouses, or educational institutions.

How to use it:

  • Go to “Organization settings” and select “Database”
  • Under “Vehicles directory”, select “Vehicles”
  • Click the “Add from file” button
  • Download the template, input vehicle information, and upload the file

Streamlined Face Recognition Management

Lumana now reveals key objects identified on camera feeds, such as people, faces, vehicles, and license plates. When new faces appear at the camera level, users can quickly add them to the organization database, accelerating investigations and alert creation while improving security response times for businesses that need to identify authorized personnel or persons of interest.

How to use it:

  • When viewing camera feeds, click the metadata drop down and select “Faces”
  • You'll see a name tag in the bottom right corner if a face is identified
  • Hover over the face tile to reveal available options
  • You can train the camera AI model, by removing incorrect face classifications
  • If the person is not in the system, you can click the "Add person" button
  • Select “Add person” to add a new face or “Add to existing” to add to an existing face record

Custom Reporting Tools

Today, options are limited when organizations want to transform their video data into actionable insights. However, with Lumana, organizations can pull data from video via AI dashboards to analyze activity trends and drive smarter decision-making. Continuing our mission to transform every second of video into impactful insights, we've released custom reports allowing administrators to build one-time or recurring reports for specific cameras based on alert, attendance, and license plates. These reports can be sent directly to users via SMS and email with data in CSV format, helping businesses make data-driven decisions about security investments, staffing patterns, and operational improvements.

How to use it:

  • On the left navigation bar, under “Archives”, there is a new option for “Reports”
  • Click "Create report" and select the desired settings
  • Select data sources including alerts, attendance records, or license plate logs
  • Choose one-time or recurring schedules
  • Export to CSV for further analysis in your preferred business intelligence tools

Environmental Sensor Integration

At Lumana, we believe in integrating our AI video security solution with third-party systems to offer an intelligent, open experience that provides real impact. Organizations can now add third-party sensors to Lumana and connect real-time environmental readings to specific cameras, creating a comprehensive monitoring system that combines visual security with environmental awareness for holistic facility management.

How to use it:

  • Connect compatible sensors by visiting “Settings” → “Integrations” → “Sensors”
  • You can also connect sensors by visiting location settings from the home page, adding a sensor, and connecting it to a camera

Expanded Camera Lineup

In addition to being a camera-agnostic AI platform, we also offer plug-and-play smart cameras to make upgrading and deployment as easy as possible. We're excited to introduce three new camera options designed to work alongside our Dome, Turret, and Bullet Series cameras and meet your diverse security needs.
